August 2007 Entries

It's Been a Year Already
Development of CCNetConfig has been going on for over a year already. I was just looking at some of the initial builds and noticed the build dates on them. There have been a lot of features added in that year and I plan on continuing development over the next year as well. The next major feature is, of course, the support for queues. The progress is coming along nice. I have some work to still do on it but it will be checked in soon. Supporting different versions of CruiseControl.NET is part of what makes this difficult but I have no intentions to drop support for any version of CruiseControl.NET, it just means a little more thought has to be put in to the supported features.

Support for Integration Queues
I have been working on adding support for integration queues. I am trying to figure out the best way to support them. I think the route that I am going to go with is adding a tree node on the root level to represent the integration queues. Below there will be a node representing each queue, and then below that will be the project. The position of the project will represent the queue priority.

I am also open to other ideas on how to represent this information so if you have any ideas please let me know by posting a comment here.

I hope to have a new beta build with some bug fixes and the integration queue support available with in the next week or so. This has taken a little while longer then I had expected but I think it will be worth the wait in the end.

Halo 2 with a Wiimote on an Xbox 360
Over on Gizmodo they have the video to the right that shows someone playing Halo 2 on an Xbox 360 using a Wiimote. It is a rather complicated process to get this to work though. It requires an Xbox 360 (obviously), a PS2 to Xbox 360 adapter, a custom microcontroller with hand coded firmware that emulates a PS2 controller and PC running a customized Wiimote driver. Still I thought it was a cool video.

Got a new Phone
WingNo I didn't get an IPhone. I don't use the "new at&t". I used to have "the old at&t" and when they switched to cingular the service went to crap, at least in my area. "The fewest dropped calls" was not the experience that I had with them. Anyhow; I now have T-Mobile and have not had any problems with their service. The customer service has also been what you would actually expect if you called a customer service center and were treated how you wanted to be treated. So the other day I was looking at the new phones that T-Mobile had to offer and I found the phone I wanted. The T-Mobile Wing. It is a pocket pc phone that runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

Size: 2.3 x 4.3 x 0.7 inches
Weight: 6 ounces
Included battery: Li-Ion polymer
Talk time: up to 4 hours
Standby time: up to 6 days
Band (frequency): 850 MHz;900 MHz;1800 MHz;1900 MHz

  • Instant messaging: Yahoo!®, MSN®, and AOL®*
  • Text messaging
  • 2.0 megapixel camera
  • Video camera
  • Windows Media® Player
  • MegaTones®, Wallpaper, HiFi Ringers®, & Games
  • Built-in QWERTY Keypad
  • Bluetooth® wireless technology
  • GPRS/EDGE and Wi-Fi enabled*
  • Voice-activated functions
  • Micro SD memory slot
I am very happy with this phone. I have an older model of the Pocket PC phone when I was with at&t but it lacked the keyboard and a lot of other features. It only ran Pocket PC 2002 too.

Back on task
After a short break from blogging and working on CCNetConfig I am getting back on task. I have started working on the UI for configuring the integration queue feature added to CruiseControl.NET 1.3. I have also been working on a new template for SubText that is based off CodePlex site. It includes features like that last build status, recent work items, recent builds that show associated work items and syntax highlighting (provided by ActiPro CodeHighlighter). I have plans to add a source code browser and some other features soon. Once I finish these completely and fix a couple issues with cross browser support i will be switching the main site to this template. You can see the progress of the template on the beta site.
